Martha has 14+ years of experience developing and facilitating global and local programs for 6,000+ participants over 50+ programs to build a more just, climate-resilient world. Her skills focus on strategic planning, team building, project management, program design, operations and impact strategy and more. She is trained in leadership development, climate change and facilitation, with an academic background in anthropolgy and sociology.

Martha is passionate about deepening our connection to nature, community and developing self-leadership for a stronger future.

Background
Her 14+ years of experience extends from managing virtual and in person cohort-based programs, community-based coalitions, fellowship-focused conferences, network engagement and global world summits with an emphasis on training climate and social change leaders from around the world, including the first ever virtual Ocean Solutions Accelerator, the United Nations Ocean Conference Youth & Innovation Forum in Portugal and the Our Ocean Youth Leadership Summit in Panama.

As a consultant, she has been a founding team member and leader of OceanX Education, the project manager of the City of Detroit's first ever Waste Diversion Advisory Committee, a Board of Directors facilitator and more.
As a trained facilitator, she brings practices from StartingBloc, Rockwood Leadership Institute's Art of Leadership, the All We Can Save Project's Climate Wayfinding Cohort and more. She holds a degree in Anthropology and Sociology from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

In Detroit, Martha is a member of the Built By Many cooperative and the Detroit Green Task Force's Waste Reduction Committee. She is an active volunteer with Freedom House Detroit, Make Food Not Waste, Keep Growing Detroit and the Detroit People's Food Cooperative.
